Dover Castle - Constables Tower
c1920s
Constables Tower was constructed by Hubert de Burgh following the siege of Dover Castle in 1216-17 to replace the North Gateway. It was extensively modernised between 1883-4 with the addition of the rear accommodation blocks (see bottom picture). The Tower has been and is still the home of the Deputy Constable of the Cinque Ports.
As you will see, very little has changed to the Tower since the above picture other than the change of windows and the rendering removed from the turret in the top.
