Grand Shaft Barracks from the Prince of Wales Pier

Grand Shaft Barracks viewed from the Prince of Wales Pier. The barracks were built in 1804 and demolished in the 1960's.

Also visible are the Esplanade Hotel and the Clocktower with the lifeboat house behind. In the late 1970's the old iron pier was demolished at the landward side for the construction a new Hoverport to replace the one at the Eastern Docks.
