Dover Harbour Station (Elizabeth Street)
c1920s
Looking toward the town with the Western Heights on the cliffs about was one of 5 railway stations in the town. Marine, Harbour, Priory, Town and Kearsney. The Harbour Station opened in 1861 on the London, Chatham and Dover Railway route. Unusually, part of the down platform was on wheels to allow it to move away to allow trains out onto the promenade route !
Now the station building is used as a training room for P&O ferries.
